The Montrose Township Group was established in 2005 by local traders &  residents who volunteer their time & enthusiasm to provide a voice for the community on local issues. It is an incorporated association.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE;

Montrose Township Group Members are volunteers who endeavour to improve the township & surrounds for the benefit of the community.

The intent is to continuously improve & upgrade the Township for the benefit of all people who live & work in Montrose & surrounds.

Elections for office bearers are held at the Annual General Meeting each year. Posters appear in local businesses to advertise the event. All local residents are eligible to participate in the group & stand for election on the night.

If you want to be nominated to join during the year, download our nomination form and get in touch! Our meetings are held every 2 months, or more often if required. Contact Val@montrose.vic.au for the details of the next meeting.

Previous projects have included a focus on graffiti, with the great support of Yarra Ranges Council, who now have a ute to help to keep graffiti off their property.

Constant vigilance and prompt removal are essential to help keep Montrose a "graffiti free zone." Please help by removing graffiti from your property, and being the community's eyes and ears to monitor and report graffiti you see in Montrose. See our GraffitiWatch page for more information on what to do if you see it.

The Alleyway Artwork project was completed in June to beautify the alleyway leading from the rear car park to the shops on Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd. See the images above for a comparison of how it looks now and how it looked before. We think you'll agree it's more than just an improvement - it's a total transformation!

The murals were created by local artists, teachers and children who donated their time and skills to depict "Historic Montrose" & also commemorate some notable Montrose identities, including Kevin Heinze. They were celebrated in our 2011 calendars and form a wonderful open air art gallery which is a great asset to the town.

See here for a brief description of our Group's other current and past activities.

Download the membership application form here & join the group to help shape Montrose's future.
