Montrose Township Group member wins Community Award

1 Jul 11

Rob Earney - who needs no introduction in Montrose - was last week awarded the inaugural Rotary-Kevin Heinze Community Award for his decades of work for the local community of Montrose and surrounds.

Rob's community achievements and forms of service are too many to list and too significant to do him justice here, but range from many years in Montrose CFA including a long stint as Captain, to being a founding member of the original local traders group which developed into the Montrose Township Group, of which he was also President for 5 successful years. He is still an active member as Chairman of the MTG Traders' Sub-Committee, trains CFA recruits, and STILL has time to run a busy butchers shop and keep us all in yummy, award-winning cabanas!

The Montrose Township Group warmly congratulates Rob on this richly deserved recognition.

We also commend the Rotary Club of Montrose and District, and specifically its immediate Past President, Carol Lawton, for instigating this award. It provides a visionary and timely celebration of local community leaders and their priceless work, and reminds us all of just how lucky we are to have them in our midst. We hope it inspires others to bring their talents and energies to bear on behalf of their beautiful local community.

Well done Rob!
