State Government Commits $13.5m to Anti-Graffiti Programs

4 May 11

The Minister for Crime Prevention, Andrew McIntosh, yesterday issued a press release outlining the allocation of $13.5m in the financial year 2011-12 to the State Government's new zero-tolerance graffiti initiatives, as well as the current prevention and removal strategy.

Although at the time of writing little detail was available, the Township Group is grateful for this boost to graffiti management resources. We are particularly pleased to see an indication (through the State Assets Graffiti Clean-up program) that the State Government is recognising the role it itself has to play in keeping its own assets clean, such as road and other signs (VicRoads and Parks Victoria) and its own buildings and other infrastructure.

For more info on the budget allocation, see Andrew McIntosh's Press Release.
